# Certificates

> Which visits produce a certificate, where it is stored, and who gets it

A certificate is a PDF the engine writes when a job is completed, one per visit that earned it. Two things decide it: the job's type, then the category of the checklists answered on that visit.

| The job's type | What happens |
| ------------------------- | ------------------------------------------- |
| Service | no certificate, whatever the checklists say |
| Maintenance, Installation | each visit is read, as below |

| The visit's completed checklists | Certificate |
| ---------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| all in the Maintenance category | Certificate of Maintenance |
| all in the Commissioning category | Certificate of Commissioning |
| none completed | none |
| two categories on one visit, or a category that is neither | none, and the completion dies as a dead letter for a person to look at |

Each certificate is filed by the engine, attached to the Zoho work order, and attached to the invoice email next to the invoice PDF. The file is named after the certificate kind, the job and the visit date. The invoice email waits for every certificate the job earned before it goes out.
