Before you start
- Zoho open, on Products.
- The name, the price before tax, and whether it is a service or goods.
Steps
1
Create the product
In Products, click Create. Fill in Product Name, Unit Price and Product Type. Pick a Usage Unit. Tick Converts to Asset if buying one puts a piece of equipment at the customer’s property. Leave Product Active ticked.
2
Save
Click Save. The SKU is given by Zoho.
How you know it worked
- Within a minute the product shows a QuickBooks id. That number is the QuickBooks item.
- In QuickBooks the item has the name, the price and the sales income account. A product typed as Services is a service item; anything else is a non-inventory item.
Changing or removing one
- Change the price in Zoho. QuickBooks follows.
- Delete the product in Zoho. Our side keeps it, switched off, and the QuickBooks item goes inactive. Old invoices keep their lines.
If it did not work
- No QuickBooks id after a few minutes. The engine could not reach QuickBooks, and the job is waiting as a dead letter. See Fix a record that did not sync.
