Before you start
- Zoho open, on Checklist Templates.
- The equipment type it is for, and the readings with their units and the band each should fall in.
Steps
1
Create the template
In Checklist Templates, click Create. Fill in Name, pick a Category (Maintenance, Commissioning or Post-repair) and the Asset Type.
2
Add the questions
In Checklist Questions, add one row per reading: Question Title, Helper Text, Unit, Expected Min and Expected Max. Set Display Order and tick Required where it matters. Save.
How to title a reading
Write the title as the component, an em dash, then what is measured: Disconnect — Line Voltage, Run Capacitor — Capacitance. No unit in the title; the unit has its own box. The app groups a customer’s readings year over year by this title, so the same reading must carry the same title on every template. When to leave the band empty
Give a reading an Expected Min and Expected Max only when the acceptable range is the same for every unit of that type. Where the right value depends on the unit’s own rating plate, such as a compressor’s running amps, leave the band empty. A made-up band flags good readings as out of range, which is worse than no band at all.How you know it worked
- The template and its questions are on our side within seconds, in order, with units and bands.
- The template can be attached to an appointment; see Assign a checklist to a visit.
Good to know
- Only readings exist. There are no yes/no, text or choice questions.
- Zoho is the owner. Edit questions there, never on our side. A template deleted in Zoho is removed here with its questions.
